Spirituality is Engagement

Sometimes the most proactive thing we can do in a conflict is walk away. We all have those situations with people where things get very heated, and the other person has either lost it, or is about to. It can be very destructive to feed this fire. Many times it is useful to take some space, let the person cool down, and come back again once perspective has been gained.
However, be clear on one point: spirituality is engagement. Even though we may have walked away, we don’t want to shut the person out of our minds – nor our hearts. Although the other person may have some issues they need to work through, if they are in our movie, then there is a reason – and an opportunity.
